Human Rights Day is the anniversary of the passing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. 

On 10 December, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document proclaimed the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being, regardless of colour, race, religion, language, sex, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
